Welcome to the Halland County Council!

The Halland County Council provides everyone living in or visiting Halland County with excellent health, medical and dental care. The County Council also works to help people improve their health and prevent illness and injury.
The County Council exists for and works to meet the needs of Hallanders.En ginst Proximity, continuity and accessibility are among our primary goals. To achieve them, we have built up an extensive network of care providers through Halland. In addition to the County Council’s own healthcare centers and national dental service clinics, there are a variety of private clinics and healthcare centers that have entered into care agreements with the Council. The private alternatives are also financed with public monies, and their patient fees are the same as those for care provided under the aegis of the Council.

The Halland County Council operates two hospitals, with emergency care facilities. There are ambulance stations spread throughout the county to ensure that those who need help get it quickly.

All of this ensures that Hallanders enjoy secure care with a high level of quality.

The County Council serves the six municipalities comprising the county – Laholm, Halmstad, Hylte, Falkenberg, Varberg and Kungsbacka. In total, over 276,000 people live here. Hallanders live longer than anyone else in the country. The average life expectancy is fully 83 years for women and 78 years for men.
